When I was a child I often went to the Siberian forest. It always evoked in me mixed feelings of admiration for its incredible beauty and fear of getting lost, bears, monsters..... The swamp is the quintessence of this dual condition. It is both frightening and enticing because of the mystery it holds.
Metaphorically, for me, the swamp is a dark, mysterious place inside each of us - our inner forest that we prefer not to think about, not to acknowledge, to reject as taboo. We can be overwhelmed by discomfort, fear, and sometimes terror. But our resource is hidden there, too. Only by gathering our courage and facing all our "monsters" can we find wholeness and strength.
“Swamp” project is about relationships with ourselves, honesty, fears, and finding wholeness if we have the courage to make the journey.

PROJECT "STILL POINT"
The series of vessels/women's bodies with handprints is meant to remind the viewer of the invisible hands that support us, give us extra support. Of the faith and trust that helps us to feel supported even when it is scary and unclear and unknown... these hands hold, support and bless everyone on their journey on this earth.
